Ultra wideband noise suppression - Ferroxfilter

This datasheet presents the main characteristics of the new ultra wideband noise suppression device. Supplied in two sizes (0603 and 1005) it can suppress noise up to 7 GHz, making it very suitable for use in very high frequency digital applications.

Ferroxtag with bar code

Ferroxtag is a new family of RFID tags suitable for operation attached to metallic items. Operation frequency is 13.56 MHz.
Ferroxtag key feature is the direction of the field activating the device: it is not perpendicular to the identified item but parallel to it; this means that the performance is almost independent of the material of the item identified.
The Ferroxtag core is an outstanding high magnetic permeability ferrite material that enhances the performance of the winding, thus reducing the dimensions of the coil.
As an extra feature a bar code label is sticked to the tag so that it can also be read with a conventional bar code reader.

Ferroxfoil flexible sheet EMI absorber

Ferroxfoil is a flexible sheet filled with EMI absorbing material. It's effective against electromagnetic waves in a broad frequency spectrum. It can be wrapped easily around any shape, which makes it applicable in a variety of applications. The absorptive material is a distributed magnetic material, available in several grades :
5F1 for high frequency, 5R1 for high resistivity, 5T1 for metal shielding in HF RFID transponder applications, 5W1 for wideband suppression.

Gapped ferrite toroids for power inductors (updated)

For use in power inductors, FERROXCUBE has introduced a whole range of gapped ferrite toroids in the high flux, frequency stable material 3C20. This material has very low losses, outperforming iron powder and all metal alloy powders. A new size 10 x 6 x 4 mm has been added. The brochure gives elaborate AL versus DC bias curves and loss density curves, also in comparison with MPP material. Extra I2L curves have been added. An example shows how to use these graphs in product calculations.

SMD beads and chokes

This brochure gives an overview of our small SMD products : beads, common-mode chokes, wideband chokes and gapped beads for power inductors. It provides extensive data on mechanical and electrical specifications, completed with packaging and soldering information. Basic material data are also provided.

New metal alloy powder grades in toroids

FERROXCUBE introduces a whole new type of materials in addition to our broad range of ferrites ! These are metal alloys, in the form of powders in an organic, insulating matrix. They can be divided into 3 classes : High Flux (Fe 50 % - Ni 50 %), Sendust (Fe 85 % - Si 10 % - Al 5 %) and Molybdenum Permalloy Powder (MPP) (Ni 80 % - Fe 20 %, with some Mo substitution). They will be introduced in toroids with industry-standard sizes varying from 3.56 x 1.78 x 1.52 mm to 77.8 x 49.2 x 15.9 mm. All cores are covered with an insulating layer of epoxy coating. This brochure describes their properties and gives all material graphs.

Class D audio amplifier with Ferroxcube gapped toroid output filter

This brochure explains the principle of a class D audio amplifier and the function of the choke in the output filter. In an International Rectifier demo board, one of the two metal alloy powder toroids is replaced by a gapped ferrite toroid (with such a number of turns that inductance is equal). Performance is compared and about equal. The choke design procedure is explained with gapped toroid I²L curves. Filter design basics are also given in the annex.

Large impeder cores for inductive pipe welding

Steel pipes are manufactured by folding a strip of the material to an open seam tubular shape. The open seam then passes through a high-frequency induction coil to join the seams by welding. Using a ferrite impeder core concentrates the magnetic flux and results in a much higher welding efficiency.
This 4-page leaflet presents our range of impeder rods in the special grade 3C21, optimized for this application. It features high saturation flux density combined with low core loss density.

Gapped SMD beads for power inductors

This product note presents a range of gapped SMD beads for point of load (POL) converters. They are available in the high-end power grade 3C96. All gapped beads are leadfree acc. to RoHS regulations 2002/95/EC.

Ferrite cores for RFID transponders

This product note presents a range of customized products for RFID transponder antennas. They are available in the new temperature-stable nickel-zinc grades 4B2 and 4B4. Mechanical tolerances are very strict to maintain strict tolerances on electrical properties like inductance. On request, we can produce PVD-metallized terminals and Parylene-C coating.

SMD wideband choke with extra metallization

This datasheet presents the main characteristics of the new SMD wideband choke version. It has an extra metallization to provide robust fitness for automatic mounting. The impedance curve and other electrical characteristics are the same as for the original version without metallization. Also available leadfree.
